Garden
It’s official. A drought has been declared in eight areas of England, including Kent. We knew it was coming, we haven’t had any meaningful rain for months - a couple of downpours but that’s it. Reservoir levels are down and hosepipe bans are coming into force. The ‘green and pleasant land’ is parched literally and metaphorically.
We’ve managed to keep the veggies going and now are harvesting the tomatos, cucumbers, courgettes and aubergines, fortunately having enough water still in the water butt, but once they’re in and the water runs out the potatos and leeks are going to be on largely their own
