Chatham I

Like so many towns and cities Chatham has its ‘dead areas’ - spaces where once there were businesses or residential apartments but now have been abandoned. The above image has been a car showroom for many companies and a tyre fitting centre. Now it lies derelict, its future unknown.
The below series are on an office block used by a local avionics and electrical engineering firm. Once the building was vacated it was transformed into apartments with amazing views over the river. But office to residential conversions don’t always work out and before too long the residents walked out complaining of a variety of issues with the quality of the building. Now it is empty and vandalised.
